Alicia Keys is an amazing singer, she amazes me in her song “Teenage Love Affair”. I try to sing to this song, but I can’t even reach such high notes. I sound like a squawking scare crow with rhythm. It amazes me how she does it!
But her voice is not the only thing that sounds great in the song. The music is also cool. Of course her voice over powers it because the music is very subtle. You almost don’t need the music because her voice is so strong. You have to pay great attention to notice how many instruments are going on in the background.
I am sure teenagers love this song because the lyrics match exactly what they do when they are having a “Teenage Love Affair”. I bet this song makes them laugh about how silly they are when they like someone. I love how Alicia says “It is a matter of extreme importance”, Like it is the most important thing on Earth. Because to some teenagers, their boyfriend/ girlfriend is the most important thing in their life right at that moment. But just like in the song title, it is just an affair.
The music video is just another music video. Not good but not bad. Alicia Keys plays a teenager in love and of course they are acting like teenagers. Passing notes, talking on the phone about nothing, and meeting in the same place everyday. It is cute, in a way, but it is tired.
Over all, this is a pretty good song, luckily, you don‘t have to watch the music video to listen to the song. I enjoy listening to it and every time I do, Alicia Keys still amazes me with her dominant vocals. Good song, I definitely recommend it to add to your play list, if you haven’t all ready.
