“Swing” by Savage is the best new hip-hop song out. This is the first song I have heard by Savage, but I really like the sound of their scratchy, husky voices. It encourages me to go check out more of their songs and I definitely will.

The real reason why this song is cake, is because of the beat. I like the steady but subtle hit of the bass drum just going on in the back. If you can’t dance you can at least snap your fingers, along with the song. The lyrics are fun to sing to. Some people say rap and hip-hop are the same thing, but this song proves that they aren’t. Every lyric in the song has rhythm and tone. It is not just words that rhyme. This is another one of those songs that you can’t help but to sing and dance to.

The music video isn’t too special. Savage is throwing a party and they are watching girls “Swing” their hips. I have a feeling that it will become a new dance just like Soulja Boy’s “Crank That”. It not a very unique dance but I can see that when this song comes over the radio, people are going to “Swing” their hips.

Over all, despite the clichéd music video, I really enjoy this song. Like I said about it before, it is the best new hip-hop song. If you like hip-hop then you will love this song. This is one song that should swing onto your play list. Pun intended.
